Education

At Jamea al Kauthar, we provide our students with both Islamic and secular education.

Islamic Courses

Alimiyyah (seven-year Islamic Law and Theology course)

The Alimiyyah course is designed to foster a spiritual and intellectual growth within all who undertake it. It provides an in-depth study of the Islamic way of life, drawn from several interpretations of the Quran and Hadith. The students are taught to master the Arabic language in order to fully understand the intricacies of the Quran and Hadith. The course involves the study of numerous texts which cover all aspects of Islam, including a detailed study of grammar, jurisprudence and Tajweed.

Sanatayn (two-year Islamic Studies course for post-16s)

Jamea also offers an abridged two-year version of the seven-year Alimiyyah course. This includes: Tajweed, Qur’anic commentary, Ahaadith, everyday Masaa’il, Aqaa’id and basic Arabic. This course is delivered in the English medium and can be taken in conjunction with A Level courses.

Tahfeedhul Qur’an (Memorisation of Qur’an course)

The preservation of the Qur’an in Islam is done through its memorisation. Students who wish to memorise the Qur’an can enrol onto the Tahfeedhul Qur’an course, where the expected length of the course is three years. However, all students will memorise at their own pace, which will affect the length of study. The course will also offer simple Islamic studies.
