At Jamea Al Kauthar, we provide our students with both Islamic and secular education.
Alimiyyah (Islamic Theology and Jurisprudence course)
The Alimiyyah course is designed to foster a spiritual and intellectual growth within all who undertake it. It provides an in-depth study of the Islamic way of life, drawn from several interpretations of the Quran and Hadith. The students are taught to master the Arabic language in order to fully understand the intricacies of the Qur’an and Hadith, and the course consists of the study of numerous texts which cover all aspects of Islam, including a detailed study of grammar, jurisprudence and Tajweed.
Sanatayn (two-year Islamic Studies course for post-16s)
Jamea also offers an abridged two-year version of the six-year Alimiyyah course. This includes: Tajweed, Qur’anic commentary, Ahaadith, everyday Masaa’il, Aqaa’id and basic Arabic. This course is delivered in the English medium and can be taken in conjunction with A Level courses.
Jamea offers all core National Curriculum subjects in addition to ICT, Art, Religious Studies, Geography, History, Physical Education and Urdu. At GCSE level, students are entered for: English Language, English Literature, Maths, Double Award Science, ICT, Islamic Studies and Urdu.
Jamea offers the following subjects at AS and A Level:
- AS Urdu, AS RS, AS English, AS Biology, AS Maths
- A2 Urdu, A2 RS, A2 English, BTEC (ICT) Level 3, A2 Religious studies
Provision of A Levels is subject to demand from the students, and dependent upon a sufficient number of students for each new subject.
