and student must read
1. Jamea Al Kauthar does not grant application upon
a merit basis. For admission we have an interview with prospective parents
and student to discuss the aims of the institute and what it has to offer.It also gives a great oppertunity to
get a feel of the school, and see its facilities.
2. All new applicants will have to pass the admission
test and all new admissions will remain valid for one
Islamic year only.
3.The jamea is at liberty to terminate the application of students who fail to achieve the set average
standard of Islamic and secular curriculum
4. School fees are payable in three instalments and are subject to a yearly increase.
The first installment must be paid on the day of the admission along with the non-refundable admission fee.
5. Management allocates the rooms as well as a bed and
a wardrobe (shared between two). It reserves the right to change rooms if
needed.
6. Parents are strongly urged not to shout or abuse
the staff/students at any time. This will be totally unacceptable
and will result to admission in the building being refused.
7. Students are expected to respect all teachers, staff
and follow the rules of the Jamea. Disrespectful students
and those not following the rules will undergo the sanction
procedure.
8. In the event of a student being expelled, the parents,
guardians or guarantors will be responsible for making
all the necessary arrangements without objection or
delay.
9. If for any reason a student leaves, she must return all textbooks,
locker keys, and any other Jamea property to the Dar Apa. Failure to do so,
will result to deposit being withheld or the amount added to the fees.
If any property has been left behind, and no arrangements are made for its
removal within a week, then Jamea Al Kauthar reserves the right to act in
accordance to its discretion.
10.Students are not allowed to leave the boundaries of
Jamea Al Kauthar except during fixed vacations or in an
emergency. However, in cases of emergency or necessity,
parents or guardians wishing to obtain leave for any
student may contact Jamea Al Kauthar, to request dispensation.
Any student leaving the boundaries of Jamea Al Kauthar
without permission will be expelled instantly.
11. Disclosure of all previous character and conduct
is necessary. Failure to do so may, in the event of
subsequent information coming to light, lead to dismissal.
12. Under no circumstances will physical contact be
tolerated with staff members or students. If found to
do so this will result in expulsion.
13. All present and future Jamea Rules & Regulations must be adhered to. The jamea
reserves the right to expel any student who is breeching the rules and regulations.
Dress Code
Uniform
1. Dress – Plain navy blue.
Length – more than halfway down the shin.
Sleeve – wrist length.
Material for the uniform and black and blue dupattas
is available at the Jamea.
2. Shalwar – Navy blue without flares. They should
not be more than 8 inches wide. Culottes are not allowed.
Casual wear
Any colour dress. Length –
more than halfway below the shin. Knee length clothing is strictly banned. Sleeve – wrist length.
A dopatta must be worn at all times in the uniformal manner. The length must be until the elbows and must cover the back.
Coloured bandanas are not permitted.
A jabbah, apparent designer tops, nor trainers can be worn as casual wear in the Jamea. The clothing
that does not adhere to the above rulings will be confiscated and the Jamea will not be responsible for its safeguarding.
3. Black Jubbah and dopatta is compulsory as well as purdah (veil) when leaving and returning to Jamea. Scarves are
strictly not permitted.
4. Shoes – Flat heeled, no high-heeled shoes allowed.
5. No kind of make-up is allowed.
6. For PE grey shalwar kamees must be worn which should
be below the knees and pumps as footwear.
7. All items of clothing and kit are to be kept in a
clean and tidy condition.
8. No coloured contact lenses are allowed.
9. Jalsa’ takes place twice annually where
all girls are expected to wear white shalwar kamees.
No more than 8” wide. The Kamees has to be below
the shins. All Jalsa clothes strictly have to be white.
No coloured embroidery, sequins or beads are allowed except
for white.
Personal Property
Money should be deposited in the students' bank
for safekeeping. The amount of money a student may withdraw
from the students’ bank is £5:00
a week, which also includes the spending money at the tuck
shop.
Articles of value should not be brought to Jamea.
All clothes, books and personal belongings should be
clearly labelled with the student’s name. Any lost
items must be reported to the Apas' office.
Jamea cannot be held responsible for any item/cash,
which is not in its safe custody.
Forbidden Items
Photos of friends and family should not be brought in to
Jamea.
The following forbidden items will be confiscated if found in any student's possession and the jamea will not be responsible for its protection and preservation:
song cassettes, novels, kettles, irons, toasters, heaters, mobile phones, fridges, walkmans,
Mp3 players, Mp4 players, ipods, televisions, radios makeup, short clothes, indecent nightwear, beat&head banger nazams/ nasheeds, hairdryers, hair straighteners and chewing gum. Students must also not have possession of any dangerous
item i.e. sharp knives, candles, lighters, chains etc. The possession of these items may
lead to suspension and in the same instances expulsion eg possession of a mobile phone. However, cassette players(without a radio), vacuums, lamps and fans are
permitted but they must be tested and checked by a qualified electrician.
Rules for Students
1. Class attendance is essential: students must attend lessons other than for approved reasons.
2. Five daily prayers are compulsory in the prayer hall.
3. To attend Motala(homework session) is necessary.
4. In Jamea Al Kauthar we have School and six form.
It is compulsory upon every student to attend these
pre 16 and post 16 classes.
5. Students must not go out without the appropriate Islamic
dress.
6. Every student must be dressed in school uniform during
class time.
7. Cleanliness and tidiness of self, clothing, kit,
and own room is essential.
8. Students must not go outside the Jamea compound for
any reason.
9. Students who damage Jamea property i.e. breakage,
graffiti will be expected to restore the property at
their own expense.
10. Any damage to property must be reported to the office
or to the Apa in charge.
11. Litter is a constant eyesore. Please have the respect
and responsibility to put all rubbish, papers etc. in
the litterbins provided in all sections of Jamea.
12. Students are to report to the Apa in charge if any
serious problem or trouble occurs regarding them selves
or others i.e. if someone is ill, serious injury etc.
13. Students should not run or rush in the Main Building,
the School and Dar Arqam. Walking is encouraged as running could lead to injury.
14. Students should queue in an orderly fashion at dinner.
15. Tuck shop will only open at fixed times. It will
not be opened at any other time. Students are advised
to spend wisely and sensibly.
16. Students must not cut their hair, nor remove hair from between their eyebrows. Doing so will lead to suspention.
17. Students are advised to end all unlawful realtionships with people of the opposite gender.
If subsequent information comes to light, your application will be terminated
Rules and Regulations
Behaviour
In Jamea Al Kauthar discipline and good behaviour is
essential. Students must not use bad language,
make rude comments or answer back to any member of
staff & peers. Respect of all members of staff is of great importance.
The Islamic code of behaviour will be required on a daily
basis.
Rewards
Students who have good behaviour will be awarded merits.
A bronze/silver/gold certificates will be issued after
collecting the appropriate amount of merit slips.
Bronze Certificate – 15 merit slips
Silver certificate – 25 merit slips
Gold certificates – 40 merit slips
Disciplinary Procedure
Students who misbehave will go through the yellow and
red slip procedure, which is:
1. 2 verbal warnings which will be recorded
2. 3 yellow slips will be issued
3. Parental phone contact and report card will be given
to the student
4. Suspension issued with a red slip
Note: If a serious misconduct has taken place this procedure
will not be followed.Upon consultation with the Principal, it may lead to expulsion.
Visitors
All female visitors must report to the Apas office
to obtain authorisation prior to visiting students.
Male visitors will do likewise at the main office.
Under no circumstances are the males allowed to visit
the girl’s boarding.
Visits
The students may go home every four weeks on Friday
after 5:00 p.m. providing they return at 5:00 p.m. prompt
on Sunday. Parents are strongly urged not to come before
5:00 p.m. on Fridays to pick up their daughters. All
students must have I.D. cards, permission to leave without
an I.D. card will not be granted. Alternatively, parents
can visit their daughters every two weeks on Saturdays
between 2:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Sundays between
11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Weekday visits are not
allowed except in emergencies where phoning before coming
is required.
Holidays
Holidays will be as follows:
Ramadhan Holidays
Eidul Adha
After the mid year examinations.
Holiday dates will be issued to parents at the commencement of each New Year.
All family holidays are recommended to coincide with these dates ensuring continuaty in education and full attendance.
For holiday periods, the students will only be allowed
to go home on Saturday. The parents are requested to
pick up their daughters before 4:00 p.m. to allow the
Apas to go home.
Special leave
Special leave should be obtained from the designated
Apa on (01524) 38 98 98 (upon admission, the name of
the teacher and appropriate time will be given). Leave
will only be given on very special circumstances, as
the girls are already allowed to go home every four
weeks. If a student takes an extended leave at home or abroad without the prior consent of the Jamea, her application will be terminated.
Leave of Absence for students
1. Appointments (doctors/dentist/hospital). An appointment
card is required for leave to be granted.
2. Personal serious illness.
3. Funeral of close relatives residing in their locality.
4. Serious illness of parent, brother or sister.
5. Attendance at wedding of student’s immediate brother or
sister.A maximum leave of 2/3 days will be granted on this occasion.
Note: No leave will be granted to meet relative going
abroad.
Means of Contact
Office: If parents want to contact us they are requested
to do so during office hours (9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
and 2:00.p.m. to 4:45 p.m. on (men’s office) (01524)
38 95 95 (Ladies office) (01524) 38 98 98. On no account
should any member of staff be contacted on their private/mobile
number.
Hygiene
For hygiene purposes we would like the students to follow
a few guidelines:
1. Cupboards are provided for the clothes and dry food.
All perishable food should be labelled, dated and stored
in the appropriate kitchenettes. Strictly no frozen
food is allowed.
2. Tooth brushes must be kept separate from hair brushes.
3. All beds must be made and rooms cleaned daily before leaving for Madrassa.
4. Hair must be brushed daily and combed with a lice comb weekly.
Medical
No medication should be stored in their rooms all students
should hand in any medication to the medical officer.
At the interview a medical form will be filled in to
register your daughter with the local GP. Therefore
students will have to register as a temporary patient
at home if medical treatment is sought.
For students
Should any student be unhappy with anything here at
the Jamea, we urge them to contact a member of staff
immediately. All this will be dealt with in the utmost
confidence, and we are always happy to listen to any
ideas of improvement for the Jamea.
Purdah
All girls should leave the Jamea with purdah, jubbah
and dupatta. No scarves allowed. Also no Designer Dupattas
are allowed to be worn e.g. C.K., Gucci etc.
Examinations
1. Madrassa and School exams will be carried out every half year and reports will be sent to parents.
2. Progression to the next year in Madrassah is dependant on successfully passing the Madrassah examinations.
3. In the school Key stage three S.A.T.S will be carried out in year 9.
4. Students are entered for G.C.S.E examinations in
their fifth year according to their ability.
Homework
Homework is regarded as an important part of the curriculum.
It helps us to assess and monitor the progress of a
pupil. We request all students to co-operate in this
matter.

conditions of admission and any additional rules that
the Jamea deems necessary from time to time will have
to be compiled with fully.
