Jamea Al Kauthar Supports Ummah Welfare Trust (UWT) Pakistan Reconstruction Programme
Jamea Al Kauthar was honoured to host an hour-long presentation by the Welfare Trust (UWT) Pakistan Reconstruction Programme for its students. During the presentation Jamea Al Kauthar students watched a striking video disclosing real life stories from third world countries, and were inspired by a powerful speech on how to make a difference in the world.
UWT also discussed their plans to sponsor a house for a family in need. The students and the staff embraced this call; their generosity, gratitude and appreciation for life becoming evident during the one-day fundraising organised by the school.
Jamea Al Kauthar raised £11,180.61 to support the family in need and for individuals still experiencing the devastating aftermath of the last year’s floods. Students and staff came together and donated whatever they could from their personal means. Jamea Al Kauthar students and the staff had only 10 days to organise fundraising activities, which included: letters sent to parents with students; a mini-conference of appreciation and gratitude through acting, speeches and prayers; votes by £1 to see staff wearing bright colours; fundraising boxed; auction of a signed canvas; and pure generosity through simple anonymous giving. We, at Jamea Al Kauthar, were truly inspired by the urgency and generosity of our staff and students to help those in need. Alhamdulillah, by the grace of Allah the event was a great success!
